Hooman began teaching dance in 2003 and the experience of teaching gave Hooman the incentive to study more of his craft. Hooman was fortunate enough to be instructed in Latin and Ballroom by the inimitable Jenny Rosenfeld. He also completed 3 years full time dance training under Robert Sturrock at Industry Dance in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Ballet. He is currently learning with professional Latin champion, Alarna Donovan and had the honour of learning from Australia’s most recognized and respected dancers, Robert & Helen Ritchey.

This diverse training has lead Hooman to perform in Latin stage shows with some of Australia’s leading choreographers. He has had competition success with championship wins in Latin American dance and has performed internationally in Puerto Rico and New Orleans.

Hooman’s extensive training provided the opportunity to work in many stage, screen and theatrical performances as a dancer and choregraphing for international and Australian artists. Credits include ‘Thank God You’re Here’, ‘It Takes Two’, ‘Footy Show Players Revue’, ‘Winners & Losers’ and ‘Studio 10′.

Hooman’s professionalism, reliability and passion for enhancing and developing his students’ ability to dance, has made Hooman a successful and sought-after instructor. Teaching one-on-one classes, small and large groups – Such as ‘Sydney Salsa Congress’, Melbourne University, RMIT Melbourne and many corporate events. He has continued his education in personal training and is also a qualified GYROTONIC® Method and GYROKINESIS® Method licensed instructor. He has successfully combined dance and exercise to help students with Parkinson’s disease.

Hooman believes dance is a skill, communication and art that he takes pride in passing on. It is a skill that needs to be nurtured to develop. He also believes the process of learning should be fun. He provides a relaxed teaching environment where students can make mistakes, take risks and explore themselves without feeling intimidated.

Hooman, together with his beautiful and talented wife Dalena, developed their own dance company – HD Entertainment.

HD Entertainment has already set new standards in costuming, staging and final performance presentations in Latin, Bollywood and corporate events.

Dance training for Dalena began at the age of 3, learning from the greats of the dance industry, Bert Shaw & Camille Edwards. She trained in jazz, tap and ballet and later moving onto the genres of hip hop and acrobatics to enhance her skill, this gave Dalena the strong foundation that she draws upon today.

Taking a step forward in the Latin world training from Professional Australian and International Latin Champions, Robert and Helen Ritchey, has lead Dalena to perform and work in a broad range of dance shows, television and theatre productions.

Dalena made her theatrical stage debut in The Production Company’s season of Hair, Directed by David Atkins and choreographed by Jason Coleman. Dalena has performed several times on Channel 9’s ‘Footy Show Player Revue’, has been a guest performer multiple times on channel 10’s morning show ‘Studio 10’ as well as appearing in television commercials, episodes of ‘Neighbours’ ‘Winner and Losers’ ‘City Homicide’ and ‘Satisfaction’ on Foxtel. She has performed as a resident dancer for multiple shows and Latin Theatre Restaurants around Melbourne. One of Dalena’s many highlights includes re-creating the iconic Paso Doble routine from Strictly Ballroom with Paul Mercurio himself.

Dalena is a highly skilled costume designer and manufacturer, as well as a proficient music editor. She is one of the leading costume makers in Melbourne with great concepts and well finished commercial, Latin and cutting edge costumes. All her work is carried out to exacting standards, with a high degree of expertise and attention to detail.

This broad range of experience and skill makes Dalena an invaluable asset to HD Entertainment. She has great flair for choreographing staged shows and has done so for artists such as Deni Hines, Gina G, Anthony Callea, Wynter Gordon, Inya Day and Sarah C.

Dalena has endless talent in all aspects of dance, creation and performance. She is the whole package: a friendly and intelligent soul wrapped up in a vivacious and entertaining performer.
